KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for ensuring the operational integrity of machinery, mechanical systems, and facility structures through various maintenance tasks, including:
  • Repairing or substituting faulty components using hand and power tools, followed by reassembly of equipment.
  • Conducting regular preventive maintenance to guarantee the smooth operation of machinery, efficient functioning of building systems, and preservation of the physical state of facilities.
  • Utilizing checklists to assess drives, motors, and belts, monitor fluid levels, replace filters, and execute other maintenance duties.
  • Employing a range of tools, from standard hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical testing devices.
  • Assembling, installing, or repairing electrical wiring, electronic components, piping systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues and determining corrective actions by consulting blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as needed.
  • Inspecting, operating, and testing machinery and equipment to identify malfunctions.
  • Documenting the type and cost of maintenance or repair activities.
  • Cleaning and lubricating various machinery components, including shafts, bearings, and gears.
  • Dismantling equipment to access and replace defective parts using hoists, cranes, and various tools.
  • Communicating effectively with supervisors and colleagues, providing necessary information in both written and verbal formats.
  • Maintaining a reliable attendance record and punctuality.
  • Acquiring knowledge of all manual tasks performed within the department.
  • Executing assigned tasks in accordance with established operating procedures and adhering to departmental quality control standards.
