Job Summary:

As a Nurse Aide Trainee at Finger Lakes Health, you will provide daily care for residents under the direction of supervisory nursing staff. You will assist in developing nursing care plans by participating in care conferences and work closely with the Program Coordinator, Program Primary Instructor, and other trainers during classroom training time. During supervised clinical training time on resident units, you will be directly supervised by the Program Coordinator, Program Primary Instructor, and possibly additional Nurse Aide Trainee Clinical Supervisors. Following completion of formal training, you will be supervised by Nurse Managers, Charge Nurses, and Team Leaders on all 3 shifts during work time as you await results of NYS Competency Exam.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in care conferences to develop nursing care plans
• Provide daily care for residents under the direction of supervisory nursing staff
• Assist in development of nursing care plans
• Work closely with the Program Coordinator, Program Primary Instructor, and other trainers during classroom training time
• Participate in supervised clinical training time on resident units
• Be supervised by Nurse Managers, Charge Nurses, and Team Leaders on all 3 shifts during work time as you await results of NYS Competency Exam

Requirements:

• Must be able to read and write English
• Preferred: High school degree, GED, and/or Human Services degree (or coursework)
• Must be currently enrolled in State approved Nurse Aide Training Program
• Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and providing basic nursing care to residents
• Understanding of standard techniques used in providing personal services for residents and in caring for equipment and supplies
• Good understanding of basis of asepsis to avoid infection of residents and self or contamination of equipment and supplies

Salary Range:
$17.00
