OVERVIEW:
Delivers exceptional pharmaceutical services while adhering to the legal frameworks set forth by federal and state regulations as well as the Montana State Board of Pharmacy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Pharmaceutical Duties
- Facilitates and oversees the provision of medication distribution services.
- Evaluates and authorizes medication and prescription requests accurately.
- In accordance with established protocols, takes responsibility for the verification of technician order entries.
- Accountable for reporting any suspected Adverse Drug Reactions and conducting reviews and assessments of reported ADRs.
- Ensures compliance with formulary management protocols.
- Engages in activities related to drug information and patient/family education.
- Contributes to the formulation of the annual budget.
- Commits to ongoing professional development.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
- Adheres to the safety regulations of St. John's United.
- Identifies, reports, and/or rectifies apparent safety risks.
- Participates in mandatory safety training sessions.
- Employs proper body mechanics when handling stock.
- Promotes the growth and actively participates in the Eden Alternative philosophy, fostering a work environment enriched with plants and animals.
- Adheres to the St. John's Guidelines for Customer Engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Employee Duties
- Complies with policies regarding annual TB testing.
- Follows procedures for annual influenza vaccinations.
- Attends all required training sessions.
- Completes other responsibilities as directed by the Pharmacist(s).
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy, or Master of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution. Current Licensure (Montana).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in understanding written and verbal communication.
- Able to work independently.
- Familiarity with Medical Terminology.
- Strong observational skills.
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with residents, family members, medical staff, and colleagues.
- Competence in sorting, checking, counting, and verifying numerical data.
- Proficient in operating computers.
- Ability to supervise and coordinate the activities of technicians.
- Capable of working under pressure.
- Responsive to residents' needs in a timely and professional manner, respecting their rights.
- Understanding and adherence to safety policies and procedures.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work entails minimal exposure to hazards, bloodborne pathogens, or physical risks, necessitating adherence to basic safety protocols.
