Vertical Screen is seeking a skilled Global Researcher to conduct international background checks on behalf of clients' applicants in 245 countries. The ideal candidate will have experience with employment, education, criminal record, credit, professional licensing, and directorship checks.


We are looking for a representative who can utilize their international education and experiences daily. Fluency in a language besides English is preferred but not compulsory. Responsibilities include verifying background information via phone, mail, or email, and may involve contacting vendors and using vendor databases.


The successful candidate will also be responsible for research support and follow up duties, including following up on research requests with vendors, working with internal research departments, and ensuring client satisfaction with international services. Required skills include fluency in Portuguese or another language, excellent communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and detail-oriented with prioritization and time management skills.


The compensation package includes a salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401K plan, flexible spending accounts, and paid lunch breaks. All candidates are subject to a drug test and background screening.


Key Responsibilities

  • Verification of background information for employment and applicant screening purposes
  • Research is completed via phone, mail, or email, and may involve contacting vendors and using vendor databases
  • Follow up on research requests with vendors so that requests are completed within the estimated turnaround time
  • Follow up with internal research and support departments for country-specific required documentation and questions regarding search procedures
  • Work with coordinator to ensure that client satisfaction with international services, turnaround time, and quality of results are at highest levels
  • Work with all research areas to ensure that efficient international research is being conducted
  • Assist in the establishment of procedures, work instructions, and implementation of international vendor searches
  • Uphold all corporate security policies and procedures

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Fluency in Portuguese or another language besides English preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects
  • Excellent prioritization, research and time management skills with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to maintain confidential and time sensitive information
  • Schedule flexibility to accommodate the needs of international vendors and clients
