We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Part-Time After School Program Staff Member at Schools of the Sacred Heart. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the successful implementation and operation of our after-school program.
Key Responsibilities- Program Planning and Implementation: Assist in the planning and implementation of after-school activities, ensuring they align with the program's objectives and educational goals.
- Student Supervision and Engagement: Supervise and engage students in various activities, including sports, arts and crafts, homework assistance, and other recreational activities.
- Collaboration and Lesson Planning: Collaborate with program coordinators, other staff members, or members of the community to develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote learning and personal growth.
- Environment and Safety: Maintain a safe and supportive environment for students, promoting positive behavior and resolving conflicts when necessary.
- Academic Support: Provide homework assistance and academic support to students, helping them develop effective study habits and organizational skills.
- Communication: Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns or achievements.
- Facilities and Equipment: Ensure the proper care and maintenance of program facilities, equipment, and materials used by students.
- Professional Development: Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
- Adherence to Policies: Adhere to all program policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure the well-being and security of all participants.

Qualifications- Passion for Working with Children: Passion for working with children and creating a positive impact on their lives.
- Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with students, parents, and fellow staff members.
- Task Management and Prioritization: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Patience and Empathy: Patience, empathy, and the ability to relate to and engage with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Attention to Detail and Organization: Detail-oriented, organized, and willing to take initiative.
- Instructional Technology: Requires demonstrated and direct experience using a wide range of instructional technology tools, including iPads, laptops, and Google Apps.
- Professionalism and Role Modeling: Must be a role model and maintain a high level of professionalism.
- CPR and First Aid Certification: CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Availability: Must be available to work consistent hours, Monday-Thursday: 2:30-6 p.m. and Friday: 2:00-6 p.m., with various full-day camps as needed throughout the year.
