Job Summary

At Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team as a Nurse Anesthetist II PRN. As a CRNA, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical procedures, including induction, maintenance, and emergence.
  • Select, obtain, and administer anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, accessory drugs, and fluids necessary to manage the anesthetic and maintain the patient's physiologic homeostasis.
  • Monitor, interpret, and evaluate ongoing data for the type of anesthetic and specific patient needs.
  • Provide expertise in airway management, both in and out of the surgical suite, including the placement of invasive monitoring devices.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional healthcare team to manage and coordinate patient care.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nurse Anesthesia or related field.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Texas or compact state licensure.
  • Current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a hospital setting, preferably in a surgical or critical care unit.
  • Knowledge of anesthesia equipment and technology.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
