**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Baker to join our team at Zermatt Resort. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for managing the bakery operations, including production, quality control, and inventory management.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Work closely with the bakery manager to meet production expectations and ensure a consistent product quality.
- Produce and execute a variety of baked goods, including desserts, breads, and pastries, to meet the needs of our guests and outlets.
- Lead by example in all areas of baking and production, setting the pace and tone with a sense of urgency and motivating the team.
- Assist with training new employees and ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- Exercise quality control to ensure all raw and baked goods meet quality and food safety standards.
- Monitor bakery inventory regularly to ensure pastries are in stock and reduce waste.
- Assist in bakery menu development and ensure all products meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Uphold standards, procedures, and controls to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Assist with ordering, receiving, and storing all food items, paper goods, and cleaning supplies.
- Lead the staff in maintaining the cleanliness of the outlet and storage areas.
**Requirements**
- Minimum of 2 years of recent bakery experience in a hotel or resort setting.
- Skilled in modern European desserts, pastries, and breads.
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Proven self-starter and driven individual.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
- Utah Food Handler Permit Required.
- Knowledgeable and proficient in food and beverage laws and regulations for the State of Utah.
