Overview

Cavender's is a leading retail company seeking an experienced Director of IT, Enterprise Resource Planning to lead the strategic direction and day-to-day tactical execution of our ERP systems, with a primary focus on Logistics and Finance. This role requires a seasoned IT leader who can blend visionary thinking with hands-on execution, ensuring that our D365 F&O platform enhances business operations, drives scalability, and supports digital transformation initiatives.

Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Director of IT, Enterprise Resource Planning to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive IT strategy focused on optimizing Logistics and Finance operations through the use of D365 F&O, in alignment with our business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy focused on optimizing Logistics and Finance operations through the use of D365 F&O, in alignment with our business goals.
  • Partner with senior leadership to drive digital transformation initiatives, leveraging D365 F&O to enhance operational efficiency, improve decision-making, and drive competitive advantage.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities to enhance business processes and innovate through the D365 F&O platform.
  • Create roadmaps and long-term plans for IT infrastructure and ERP capabilities to support company growth.
  • Serve as the primary hands-on expert for D365 F&O, actively participating in system configuration, customization, and optimization efforts—particularly in Logistics (inventory, supply chain, distribution) and Finance (accounting, budgeting, reporting) modules.
  • Work closely with IT and business teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues in real-time, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Lead cross-functional projects, personally overseeing the detailed implementation of solutions, data migrations, and system integrations with D365 F&O, ensuring they are both functional and aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Manage and prioritize requests from business units, providing direct, hands-on support for critical ERP functions and urgent troubleshooting needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O), particularly in Logistics and Finance modules.
  • Demonstrated ability to combine strategic vision with hands-on, tactical execution, including the ability to configure, customize, and optimize ERP systems.
  • Experience managing ERP implementations in retail, supply chain, or wholesale distribution industries.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing both IT teams and cross-functional projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex IT concepts into business terms.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain processes, logistics operations, and financial reporting.
  • Proven ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using industry accepted project management tools (Project, Excel, Word, etc).
  • Experience in retail or wholesale distribution business processes, specifically in Logistics and Finance.
  • Relevant certifications.
  • Experience within Information Technology departments, working on large scale company projects.
  • Highly organized.
  • An acute attention to detail.
  • Flexible during times of change.
  • Ability to handle confidential or proprietary information with discretion.
