Position Overview:
Delivers expert physical therapy services to enhance the Physical Therapist's capacity to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
Implements treatment strategies as outlined by the supervising Physical Therapist
Monitors patient progress during therapy sessions
Collects and reports patient data regarding treatment responses and progress to the Physical Therapist, both verbally and in writing
Adheres to safety protocols and universal precautions
Assists in compiling departmental quality assurance reports and documentation
Maintains accurate records including progress notes and logs in a timely manner
Supervises treatments administered by Physical Therapy Aides and/or Rehabilitation Technicians
Handles administrative tasks such as inventory management, answering phone calls, and taking messages
Ensures proper utilization and upkeep of equipment and supplies
Prepares necessary supplies for therapy sessions
Sanitizes examination tables and pillows after each patient
Keeps the clinical environment clean and organized
Conducts daily maintenance of the Swinex pool, including chemical adjustments and cleanliness
Upholds patient and company confidentiality at all times
Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisors
Demonstrates problem-solving skills for mechanical and maintenance issues
Exhibits a high level of motivation and ability to work independently

Additional Responsibilities:
Contributes innovative ideas for enhancing departmental processes and environments
Develops and maintains policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal regulations
Establishes and upholds policies and procedures in accordance with clinic regulations

Work Environment:


This role operates in diverse settings, including medical offices, rehabilitation clinics, acute care facilities, and outdoor environments, with potential for off-site work and travel.

There is a risk of exposure to hazardous materials, blood, and bodily fluids. The position involves constant interaction with colleagues, patients, vendors, and the public, which may include individuals who are distressed or unwell.

Physical Demands:
This role is primarily active, requiring walking, bending, stooping, crawling, squatting, and lifting weights up to 75 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds. It may involve prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Visual acuity and manual dexterity are necessary for interacting with computers and other operational systems. Auditory acuity is required for effective communication with patients and the public.

Essential Qualifications:
Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistance
Level III CPR Certification
Current Kansas Licensure
Successful completion of a 40-hour on-the-job training program with requisite testing
Ability to quickly learn new concepts and procedures
Strong organizational skills
Integrity
Attention to detail
Effective time management and prioritization skills
Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with colleagues, vendors, and others
Punctuality

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in orthopedics
Prior experience in a medical office setting
Familiarity with clinical computer applications and/or training

Work Schedule:
The schedule is flexible and determined by the needs of the Physical Therapists and patient volumes. Lunch breaks are a minimum of 30 minutes and a maximum of 60 minutes, also based on patient demand.
