Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000
As a vital member of the Electrical Engineering Team, the Firmware Engineer will work under the guidance of a designated lead or manager. This role involves the design, development, modification, and maintenance of firmware for our innovative products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in all stages of engineering projects, encompassing design, testing, system integration, support, and documentation for electronics in the semiconductor manufacturing sector.
- Contribute to project and design reviews as an integral part of the Electrical Engineering team.
- Design, update, and troubleshoot firmware for our systems.
- Assist in production activities, including analysis, problem resolution, implementing product enhancements, and documenting modifications.
- Support, test, and debug existing products.
- Develop and debug Python test scripts.
- Provide support on the manufacturing floor as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience: A minimum of five years of relevant experience is required.
- Core Skills/Technical Requirements:
- Familiarity with sound engineering practices and the ability to adhere to established guidelines and processes.
- Capability to independently write clear and structured code in C with minimal assistance.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow developers, firmware, hardware engineers, and testers in system development.
- Self-motivated with the ability to perform development tasks with limited support.
- Experience with microcontroller and microprocessor architectures, including peripherals such as PWM, DAC, ADC, TCP-IP, SPI, and EtherCAT is advantageous.
- Proficiency in developing firmware architectures.
- Ability to assess CPU performance.
- Competence in debugging programs.
- Understanding of basic RTOS principles.
- Knowledge of PYTHON programming is a plus.
Preferred Technical Skills:
- Experience in developing and executing testing and validation processes is beneficial.
- Background in product development for the semiconductor manufacturing industry is a plus.
