The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our interdisciplinary care team.

Job Summary:

The Speech Language Pathologist will evaluate, plan, and implement treatment programs for patients with acquired or congenital impairments in cognition, communication, or swallowing functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive Speech-Language Pathology evaluations and develop treatment plans based on assessment results.
  • Administer Speech-Language Pathology treatment, including making recommendations to improve communication and swallowing skills.
  • Educate healthcare professionals, patients, and families on the objectives of Speech Language Pathology and collaborate with the care team to observe patient progress.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners to integrate Speech-Language Pathology treatment with other aspects of patient care.
  • Manage patient schedules to maximize efficiency and productivity, ensuring timely and effective treatment.
  • Prepare detailed documentation of patient evaluations and treatment sessions, including progress and discharge status.
  • Supervise the work of Rehabilitation Aides and ensure they are oriented, instructed, and directed in their work activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Speech Pathology
  • Licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - State Department for Aging and Disability Services (Health Occupations Credentialing)
  • CPR/ AED/ BLS certification
