Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at NYU Langone Health. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing medically prescribed radiographs and interventional procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand and adhere to the hospital's mission and the Cardiac Cath / EP / Radiology Department's protocols.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, damage, or missing parts to medical directors, nursing staff, and contracted vendors. Prepare, prime, and set up contrast injectors for use.
  • Manage images in the PACS system, including sending, retrieving, moving, splitting, copying, deleting, importing, and requesting assistance for problems.
  • Maintain radiology inventory supplies by anticipating needs, checking inventory levels, and ordering new supplies.
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment by complying with processes and regulations.
  • Be aware of radiation safety protocols and the ALARA principle, incorporating them into general diagnostic exams.
  • Maintain daily QA, QC phantom calibrations log books for compliance issues.
  • Perform daily QA, QC phantom calibrations on all general diagnostic units and equipment.
  • Maintain active certification and licensing by city, state, and federal regulatory agencies as required by law.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in equipment setup, utilization, and care.
  • Prepare and clean exam areas before and after each patient.
  • Demonstrate proper scrub technique.
  • Implement patient procedures independently in accordance with department protocols and standards.
  • Effectively assess patient information and status, following appropriate procedures.
  • Recognize and report medical emergencies to medical directors and nursing staff.
  • Apply established procedures for patient identification.
  • Understand and apply the organization's service standards in daily workflow.
Requirements
  • Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
  • New York State license or temporary permit to practice Diagnostic Radiology.
  • 1-2 years of work experience as a radiology technician in any medical facility.
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Contrast Injection Certification.
  • Cardiac Cath Lab Experience.
  • Cardiac Electrophysiology Lab Experience.
