Job Summary:
The Parts Counterperson is a vital member of our team at Sonic Automotive, responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of parts to our service department. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the parts manager, wholesale representative, and inventory control administrator to ensure timely pick-ups and deliveries.
- Verify invoices match purchase orders for each pick-up and check payments received with invoices for each delivery.
- Keep an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups, collecting signatures on each delivery entry.
- Unload deliveries, turn in paperwork, and handle undelivered parts.
- Perform basic maintenance on the delivery truck, including filling the tank with gas, checking oil, and organization.
- Advise the parts manager of any major repairs or maintenance needed for the delivery truck.
- Assist the service department with attendant responsibilities, including managing the drop-off and pick-up of customers' cars.
- Help with stocking and posting orders when they arrive to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, reporting any accidents to a manager or supervisor.
Requirements:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic maintenance skills for the delivery truck.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in logging and verifying deliveries.
