Job Overview

This role involves performing clinical procedures, maintaining supplies, and ensuring quality patient care while adhering to the values of respect, compassion, and integrity. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  1. Accurate Patient Records: Accurately record patients' medical history and vital signs, providing essential information for healthcare professionals.
  2. Administration of Immunizations and Injections: Give patients immunizations and injections as appropriate, following established protocols and guidelines.
  3. Counseling Patients: Counsel patients on health-related issues, promoting healthy habits and wellness.
  4. Clinical Supply Management: Order and maintain clinical supplies and pharmaceuticals, ensuring that the necessary materials are available for patient care.
  5. Referral Coordination: Coordinate referrals to other medical services, facilitating seamless transitions in patient care.
  6. Consultation Scheduling: Secure consultations with specialists, connecting patients with the expertise they need.
  7. Phone Call Triage: Triages phone calls and addresses patient portal messages, responding promptly to patient inquiries.
  8. Meds and Testing Authorization: Obtain prior authorization for medications and diagnostic testing, streamlining the patient care process.
  9. Med-Surg Assistance: Assists physicians with med-surg procedures, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  10. Infection Control: Observes universal precautions, maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  11. Quality Assurance: Maintains quality assurance for the office lab, ensuring that tests are conducted accurately and efficiently.
  12. Lifting Techniques: Observes proper lifting techniques to prevent injury, upholding workplace safety standards.
  13. Pharmacy Coordination: Coordinates with pharmacies to ensure patients have adequate supplies of medication.
Requirements
  • Nursing Diploma or Degree: Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
  • Licensure: Licensed by the State of Tennessee.
  • Work Experience: One year of experience in a medical office environment.
  • Equipment and Skills Training: Must be competent in the use of Glucometer, BP cuff, thermometer, computer, stethoscope, audio scope, business phone, and various oral and injectable medications.
  • Physical Environment: Office environment.
  • Physical Effort: Must be able to sit, stand, communicate, in English, both orally and in writing, and lift over 20 pounds.
