Position Overview: Physician Assistant

Type of Organization: Federally Qualified Health Center with potential for loan repayment opportunities.

Time Off: 6 Weeks of Paid Time Off in the First Year

Compensation: Starting salary of at least $102,000

Work Schedule:

  • Family Medicine: 1 (4-hour), 3 (8-hour), and 1 (12-hour) shifts
  • Walk-In Care: 4 (10-hour) shifts
  • One Saturday per month (8am-12pm)

Role Summary:

The Physician Assistant delivers essential primary care services to both pediatric and adult populations as part of a collaborative healthcare team, working closely with licensed MD/DO physicians. Care may be provided across various programs or locations. The Physician Assistant will engage in collaboration and consultation with patients, families, support staff, other Advanced Practice Providers, OBGYN specialists, and both internal and external consultants to ensure a high standard of care. This role reports directly to the Family Medicine Department Chair.

Qualifications:

  • Open to new graduates or experienced Nurse Practitioners

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduate (or soon to be) of an accredited Physician Assistant Program in the United States; new graduates must pass the licensing exam
  • Unrestricted Illinois Physician Assistant license, Illinois Controlled Substance License, Federal DEA registration, and Illinois PA license
  • Current CPR Certification (responsibility for maintaining certification)
  • Pediatric experience is preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable
