We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual to teach swim lessons, promote water safety, and inspire swimmers of all ages to reach their full potential. As a Pool Instructor, you will have the opportunity to develop highly sought-after professional skills such as written and oral communication, coaching and mentoring, responsibility, and leadership.
About the Role:
- Educate participants on proper swim techniques, promote swimmer safety, and teach new skills.
- Adapt teaching approaches to age, experience, and ability of participants to meet level objectives.
- Instruct swimming lessons in accordance with department guidelines, prepare lesson plans accordingly, maintain reports, and support members and program participants in achieving their goals.
- Demonstrate professionalism in all forms of communications, such as in-person and emails.
- Ability to be punctual, organized, approachable, and energetic.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years old (Don't meet the age requirement? We offer a junior swim instructor program).
- A minimum of 15 hours of weekly availability.
- Must be available to work mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Attend required staff meetings and training.
- Ability to remain calm in emergencies, communicating quickly and effectively provide emergency response.
- Ability to swim and knows all four competitive swim strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly).
Estimated Salary Range: $18-$25 per hour, up to 40 hours per week
