We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Technician to join our team at Northern Arizona Healthcare Corporation. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care
- Under the general supervision of a licensed healthcare professional, perform assigned procedures including vital sign measurements, specimen collection, and patient transport.
- Assist with patient exams and minor surgical procedures, such as lumbar punctures, sterile instrument preparation, and suturing lacerations.
- Apply orthopedic devices, including premanufactured and plaster splints, under physician direction.
- Communication
- Provide effective communication with patients, families, healthcare providers, and ancillary departments to ensure quality patient care.
- Document patient information, vital signs, and procedures completed in the patient record.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Assess and report any unusual findings to licensed healthcare professionals.
- Accurately document vital signs, procedures completed, and changes in patient condition.
- Stocking and Supplies
- Monitor supply stock levels and report needs to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Assist with health unit coordination tasks and reception responsibilities as needed.
- Compliance and Safety
- Comply with state and federal regulations, as well as company policies, that impact your area of responsibility.
- Ensure all certifications and licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.
- Report any safety-related incidents in a timely manner and attend all safety-related training programs.
- Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification and Licensure
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant license or Arizona Certified Emergency Medical Technician required.
- Experience
- Previous Emergency Department experience preferred.
