Job Summary

CHI St Alexius Health Devils Lake Hospital is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team on a 13-week contract basis. As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to adult patients, newborns, and ER patients of all ages.

Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care for unit types: ER, MS - Noncompliant patients, and Newborn nursery.
  • Manage ventilators and respiratory care plans independently.
  • Perform treatments, including ABGs, Cpap, Bipap, and other respiratory therapies.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 coverage.
Requirements
  • 3 years of Respiratory experience.
  • Previous travel experience.
  • Adult ventilator management.
  • Competence with ABGs, Cpap, Bipap, and treatments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment
  • Shifts are 6a-6p with on-call post-shift 6p-6a for emergencies.
  • Potential for block scheduling and some flexibility.
  • Staff collaboratively creates the schedule - manager assists if needed.
  • Expected to work every other weekend, with some flexibility, possibly less.
  • Expected to work some holidays during the contract.
