Position Summary: The Press Brake Operator is responsible for overseeing the operations necessary to effectively layout work and set up the appropriate machinery to meet fabrication and assembly requirements, ensuring adherence to design specifications and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure dies, punches, and programs for both automatic and manual press brakes on various sheet metal types.
- Operate both automatic and manual press brakes efficiently.
- Calculate bend allowances and deductions to uphold quality standards.
- Interpret and understand blueprints accurately.
- Engage in fabrication tasks using basic manual machines.
- Work independently to complete assigned tasks with precision.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Preferred certification in forklift and overhead crane operation.
- Ability to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions, including blueprints.
- Capable of presenting information and addressing inquiries from supervisors and colleagues.
- Proficient in basic arithmetic and geometry, including the use of fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Understanding of fundamental concepts related to sheet metal bending.
- Ability to follow instructions provided in various formats.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this role require the employee to stand for extended periods, use hands for manipulation, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception.
Work Environment:
This position involves exposure to moving mechanical parts and may require respiratory protection due to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is typically loud, necessitating hearing protection.
