About the Role:
Softworld, a Kelly Company, is seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to join our team in Lexington, MA. As a Software Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software applications for our clients in the tactical networks and communications systems development industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop software applications using Java and Python programming languages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize software development projects.
- Develop and maintain software documentation, including user manuals and technical guides.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to software development best practices.
- Work closely with clients to understand their software development needs and provide solutions that meet their requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in software development.
- Proficient in Java and Python programming languages, with a strong focus on one language and knowledge of the other.
- Experience with modern software engineering tools, including Java development environments, debuggers, code repositories, version control, and issue tracking.
- Proficient in using Linux OS and developing containers and container networking.
- Basic networking experience required, including understanding of the OSI model, routing protocols, TCP/IP stack, and more.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- Background in software-defined networking a plus.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid work arrangement, with 3 days a week onsite.
Eligibility:
- Must be eligible to work in the United States, directly for an employer, without sponsorship now or anytime in the future.
- Must be a US Citizen, as this client is a US Federal Government contractor and is legally required to hire US Citizens.
