Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Railcar Mechanic to join our team at Rescar Companies. As a Railcar Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and replacing defective or worn components on railcar equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and diagnose malfunctions in railcar equipment, including truck assembly, safety appliances, brake systems, wheels, and draft systems.
  • Repair and replace defective or worn components, ensuring safe and proper operation.
  • Test and operate engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Clean units and components to ensure proper operation.
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a mechanic or in a related field.
  • Experience with hand tools and equipment.
  • Familiarity with welding and other repair techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
