About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Health Care Associate to join our team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As a key member of our patient care team, you will provide direct care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding patients, as well as performing vital sign checks and documenting patient information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including bathing, mouth care, and elimination assistance
  • Obtain and record vital signs, height, and weight
  • Lift, ambulate, and transport patients as needed
  • Position patients and perform range of motion exercises
  • Collect specimens and transport them to the lab
  • Perform designated bedside lab tests and apply oxygen therapy
  • Assist with patient education and discharge planning under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • STNA (State-tested Nurse Assistant) or completion of HCA training course with Certification related to acute care setting, or a Nursing Student who has completed first semester of an acute care hospital-based clinical experience
  • BLS certified by American Heart Association
  • Experience in providing direct patient care
  • Computer literacy
