The RD will engage in comprehensive nutrition counseling and weight management education, aiming to enhance health outcomes for enrolled participants. This position is part-time and operates as an independent contractor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide intensive nutrition counseling and weight management education through various communication channels including phone, video, chat, text, and email.
  • Assist with medication management and support for obesity-related comorbidities under the guidance of assigned physicians.
  • Engage in remote patient monitoring utilizing various devices (e.g., scale, blood glucose meter, blood pressure monitor, ketone meter).
  • Support patients with the dosing and titration of anti-obesity medications within established protocols.
  • Collaborate with team physicians and external providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Quickly build rapport and therapeutic alliances with a diverse patient population.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing and other techniques to facilitate behavior change.
  • Conduct online webinars as necessary.
  • Consistently meet program metrics while upholding high-quality care standards.
  • Complete all required documentation promptly.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Registered Dietitian credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, with state licensure if required.
  • Certification from the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE) as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) is highly preferred.
  • Experience with anti-obesity medications is advantageous.
  • Proficient in motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Able to incorporate constructive feedback to enhance patient interactions.
  • Must have a private home office equipped with high-speed internet for secure patient communications.
  • Comfortable with advanced technology, including electronic medical records and various digital tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt communication techniques to cater to a diverse patient population.
  • Flexible schedule with a commitment to a minimum of 20 hours per week.
  • Must reside in the United States.

Compensation: $40 per hour
