Overview:
We are in search of dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants to join our newly established 40-bed medical surgical unit, focusing on patients with extended care needs. This transitional care unit serves as a vital link between various healthcare providers, services, and settings.

Team Collaboration:
Our multidisciplinary team includes geriatrics, nursing, providers, and activities teams, all committed to enhancing patient engagement through art, games, and social interactions, thereby supporting the health and morale of our patients.

Our nursing staff, patient care technicians, and CNAs demonstrate exceptional analytical skills to assess patient needs, identify risks, and implement appropriate interventions. We pride ourselves on delivering outstanding customer service to patients and their families, tailored to their current health conditions and learning capabilities.

Communication Skills:
As a cohesive unit, we consistently exhibit superior communication skills, effectively collaborating and problem-solving with other healthcare professionals, hospital administration, patients, and families.

Job Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of a Registered Professional Nurse and in accordance with established policies and procedures, you will perform various service duties and technical tasks, including:
- Monitoring vital signs
- Assisting patients with personal hygiene
- Supporting activities of daily living

Specific responsibilities may vary based on the area of assignment, with consideration for the unique needs and behaviors of different patient populations.

Qualifications:
Education:
Participation in ongoing education relevant to the role is expected.

Licensure/Certification:
Candidates must hold certification as a Nursing Assistant by the State of Maine and be listed on the State of Maine Registry, having completed a six-week or equivalent training program.

Skills:
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to follow instructions and complete standard forms.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues.
- Familiarity with the standards, policies, procedures, and organizational structure of the unit and the Department of Nursing.
