Job Summary

Citigroup Inc. is seeking a highly experienced credit professional to join its North American Special Assets team as a Transactor. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of credit and counterparty risk concepts, as well as excellent technical and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction and transaction execution for Special Assets-managed credits
  • Work with Senior Transactors and valuation team members to manage and execute the Special Assets portfolio
  • Recommend and/or approve credit decisions and certain work product involving the Special Assets portfolio
  • Execute portfolio management responsibilities, including recurring monitoring requirements
  • Ensure accurate classifications, risk ratings, and valuations are approved and reported in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including borrowers
  • Mentor and develop junior staff to advance their skillset and professional effectiveness
  • Participate in special projects and priority initiatives
Requirements
  • 15+ years of experience in a credit-oriented role, preferably with a large multinational financial services organization
  • Highly experienced credit professional with a deep understanding of restructuring, distressed, or comparable expertise
  • Demonstrated corporate finance, business strategy, and debt structuring skills
  • Proven track record working with various credit products and/or industries
  • Thorough understanding of risk profile, structure, and governing documentation for credit and market products
  • Hands-on experience in stressed and distressed concepts, processes, and associated internal bank accounting
  • Senior Credit Officer approver designation or equivalent credit authority preferred
