Key Responsibilities:
- Attend to the personal care needs of residents promptly and with respect.
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as requested or directed.
- Perform duties in accordance with relevant regulations and facility standards.
- Monitor the safety and well-being of residents consistently.
- Report any changes in resident status to the supervisor.
- Participate in monthly staff meetings to address resident and departmental needs.
- Maintain cleanliness in common areas and resident apartments following established policies.
- Attend care plan meetings as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum one year of experience in geriatric care or a retirement facility.
- Preferred six months of experience in a long-term care setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification is necessary.
- Medication Administration certification from the appropriate state agency is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Engage in physical activity throughout working hours.
- Experience frequent interruptions.
- Interact with residents, staff, visitors, and regulatory personnel under various conditions.
- Handle emotionally charged situations with residents and families.
- Work beyond standard hours and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Be available for emergency situations as required.
- Be aware of potential hazards such as falls, burns, and exposure to infectious materials.
- Handle hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work with individuals who may be ill, disabled, or emotionally distressed.
- Meet health requirements set by facility policies, including physical and mental evaluations.
- Possess adequate sight and hearing or use appropriate assistive devices.
- Lift and move a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of 5 feet and carry it for at least 50 feet.
- Assist in evacuating residents during emergencies.
