Radiology Interventional Technologist Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Interventional Technologist to join our team at Henry Ford Providence Novi Hospital. As a key member of our interventional radiology department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Under the direction of a Radiologist, perform invasive procedures to aid in the evaluation of pathological entities as prescribed by a physician.
  • Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the procedure.
  • Obtain additional information about the patient's medical history as necessary.
  • Prepare prescribed contrast media, medications, and IV solutions for procedures.
  • Review clinical data on requisition, analyze anatomical structure of patient, set up equipment, follow protocols, and assist Radiologist in performing complex diagnostic invasive procedures.
  • Prepare and set up sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging equipment required for procedures.
  • Ensure adequate supplies such as needles and catheters are on hand and properly stored; replenish supplies as needed.
  • Actively assess patient condition before, during, and following all procedures.
  • Manually control the equipment to obtain proper diagnostic images.
  • May assist with the training of new personnel and/or students.
  • Demonstrate the principles of radiation protection and ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS.
  • Resolve any image exceptions, complete all study indexing, and confirm protocols with a Radiologist before performing studies.
  • Perform Quality Assurance procedures and complete necessary documentation in medical records and radiology information systems.
  • Utilize independent judgment to determine appropriate imaging techniques, patient positioning, and safety practices.
Requirements:
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with the advanced registry in one of the following: Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (CI), Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI), Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (CV).
  • Must maintain a Healthcare Provider certification (BLS).
  • Must-Have: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and required hours of continued medical education.
