Job Summary

The RN Pre-op/PACU is a critical member of our perioperative team, providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, and patient-centered care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless transitions of care
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the physician
  • Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans
Requirements
  • Current licensure in this State as a Registered Nurse
  • Progressive work experience in the Perioperative, critical care or emergency room setting of no less than one year
  • Current BLS certification, ACLS certification within six (6) months of date of hire and PALS within one (1) year of date of hire
Preferred Qualifications
  • Competence in oral and written communication
  • Basic computer skills
  • The ability to critically think and analyze
Physical Guidelines

The RN Pre-op/PACU must be able to move, traverse, position self, remain in a stationary position and negotiate steps for up to eight hours a day. The ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds, push and/or pull patients or equipment up to 100 pounds is also required.

The RN Pre-op/PACU must have visual acuity at least 20 inches or less, be able to identify and distinguish colors, and have the ability to coordinate eyes and hands quickly and accurately.

The RN Pre-op/PACU must be able to work with hands in turning and placing objects in space, perceive objects accurately as to size, temperature and texture, and have auditory acuity.

The RN Pre-op/PACU must be able to stand for long periods of time and have mental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position.

The RN Pre-op/PACU will be exposed to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation, and repetitive motions.

The RN Pre-op/PACU will work irregular hours, including greater than eight hour shifts.
