Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Brigham and Women's Hospital. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and verify patient identification and medical history, and prepare patients for ultrasound examinations.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment and perform a variety of imaging procedures, including abdominal, obstetric, and vascular studies.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advances in ultrasound technology and techniques.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive working relationship with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited ultrasound program and a minimum of 12 months of full-time clinical experience.
  • Registration in all accredited specialties, including first and additional specialties.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to lift and move patients, as well as equipment and supplies, as needed.
Working Conditions
  • Normal teaching clinical hospital environment.
  • Exposure to high-frequency sound waves.
  • Possibility of contact with infectious diseases and bodily fluids.
  • Standing and walking most of the day.
