Position Overview

The role involves developing, implementing, and supporting the operating plant's Quality Systems and Process Improvement initiatives to ensure the production of high-quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations. You will provide comprehensive leadership to the Quality Manager and site QA technicians as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a safety champion, prioritizing safety in all tasks and collaborating with the EHS Manager to uphold safety policies and programs.
  • Oversee all supervisory functions for direct reports, including performance evaluations, hiring, training, and recognition.
  • Direct the activities and priorities of Process Engineers and the Quality Department.
  • Identify and implement strategies for cost reduction, waste minimization, and overall process enhancement.
  • Ensure compliance and monitor resources for the maintenance and continuous improvement of Food Defense and Product Safety systems.
  • Support Product Development by leveraging manufacturing knowledge to meet design control and scale-up protocols for new projects.
  • Administer the product specification system, coordinating with Sales and R&D to optimize performance.
  • Supervise internal validations and Design of Experiments to ascertain key process variables.
  • Ensure new products align with customer manufacturing and quality requirements within our production capabilities.
  • Maintain the overall Quality system/department by ensuring current procedures meet customer specifications.
  • Demonstrate a proactive commitment to Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.
  • Act as a liaison among Sales, R&D, Manufacturing, and customers regarding quality expectations and performance.
  • Manage the Corrective Action system, assisting various departments in resolving quality issues.
  • Review and update organizational documentation, policies, and procedures to ensure accuracy.
  • Facilitate adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Promote and integrate Continuous Improvement initiatives into the plant culture.

Qualifications
