iSeries Consultant

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced iSeries Consultant to join our team at 3S Business Corporation. As an iSeries Consultant, you will be responsible for analyzing and creating new programs using RPG, RPG ILE, SQLRPGLE, and Control Language (CLP/CLLE).

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and create new programs using RPG, RPG ILE, SQLRPGLE, and Control Language (CLP/CLLE)
• Develop and implement database concepts, including physical files, logical files, SQL tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures
• Design and implement screen programming, including display files, subfiles, and printer files
• Document business rules effectively and create data mapping documents after analyzing program flows and data flows
• Develop and implement ILE programming, including program modules, binding directories, and service programs
• Work with Message Queue (MQ) and embed XML tags in RPG programs
• Collaborate with analysts at the client site to own project tasks and ensure successful project delivery
• Develop and implement knowledge of triggers, message queuing for interprogram/ intersystem communication, and ROBOT job scheduler
• Develop and implement knowledge of normalized and denormalized tables, star schema databases, and iSeries Navigator
• Develop and implement knowledge in the Retail Domain, especially in areas like Merchandising, Warehouse Management, and Distribution

Requirements

• Excellent programming skills on the iSeries platform
• Very good knowledge of SQL concepts and ability to analyze and modify complex SQL queries
• Good working knowledge of database concepts, including physical files, logical files, SQL tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures
• Good working knowledge of screen programming, including display files, subfiles, and printer files
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with analysts at the client site
• Good working knowledge of Message Queue (MQ) and ability to embed XML tags in RPG programs
• Knowledge of triggers, message queuing for interprogram/ intersystem communication, and ROBOT job scheduler
• Knowledge of normalized and denormalized tables, star schema databases, and iSeries Navigator
• Knowledge in the Retail Domain, especially in areas like Merchandising, Warehouse Management, and Distribution

Preferred Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of Turnover the code configuration management tool
• Good working knowledge of X Analysis crossreference tool for iSeries
