Job Title: Infusion Registered Nurse

GI Alliance is seeking a skilled and compassionate Infusion Registered Nurse to join our team. As an Infusion Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our infusion center.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as an Infusion Registered Nurse. In this role, you will be responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in our infusion center, including assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical care and evaluation. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and excellent outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Obtain patient consent for care and ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Obtain and document health history, information on chief complaint, vital signs, and health risk factors, and assess disease condition.
  • Provide patient care based on nursing practice guidelines, company policies, INS standards of practice, and federal/state laws and regulations.
  • Execute prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administer prescribed medications, and monitor and document treatment progress and patient response.
  • Refer to/consult with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns.
  • Document patient assessment and intervention data using established medical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices.
  • Maintain/review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information.
  • Post tests and examination results.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of all medications.
  • Respond to/refers incoming patient treatment-related phone calls.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Responsible for administering all medications: PO, IV, SC, IM as prescribed.
  • Coordinate and execute treatment plans for patients.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments.
  • Will collaborate with GI Alliance (GIA) Research department as required.
Requirements:
  • Current state registered nurse license in good standing.
  • Current BLS certificate.
  • CRNI certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years professional nursing experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year infusion experience in acute, outpatient, home and/or physician office setting.
  • Gastroenterology experience preferred.
Performance Requirements:
  • Knowledge of nursing processes; health care systems, structure, and functions; and community resources.
  • Understanding of health care technology, equipment, and supplies.
  • Familiarity with state law on nursing care, nurse practice guidelines, INS standards of nursing practice, and GIA policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of chart/medical record documentation requirements and federal/state laws related to the release of health care information.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Skill and knowledge in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care.
  • Skill in time management, problem-solving, multitasking, prioritizing, and medical care coordination.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Skill in initiating appropriate crisis interventions and emergency response calmly and effectively.
  • Skill in patient triage in person and on the phone.
  • Skill in preparing/maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence.
  • Ability to analyze options and then counsel patients and families about choices and make referrals to other providers and resources.
  • Ability to read and interpret physicians' orders and notes from other providers.
  • Ability to calculate and administer drug dosages and injections and measure results.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
Work Environment:

Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions.

Mental/Physical Requirements:

Combination of office and clinic settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
