Job Summary:

OSF HealthCare is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As an Ultrasound Diagnostic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing and recording two-dimensional ultrasound diagnostic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment in various modes and techniques to locate, evaluate and record pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional patient data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completes patient intakes via collection of medical history and answers patient questions regarding imaging procedures.
  • Confers with providers on the results of imaging tests and collaborates to determine if additional images required.
  • Performs and records two-dimensional ultrasound diagnostic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment in various modes and techniques.

Requirements:

  • Eligible for registration as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered as a Vascular Technologist with the Cardiovascular Credentialing Institute (CCI).
  • Must take Registry exam within 6 months of employment and pass within 1 year.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 months of prior related clinical experience to be able to independently perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, equipment operation, and to gain knowledge of patient care techniques.
