Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technician I- On Call to join our team at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco, California. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will play a critical role in preparing, measuring, and administering radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic studies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic studies on patients using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and produce high-quality images.
  • Prepare stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate doses, and administer doses under the supervision of a physician.
  • Administer therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direct supervision of the physician.
  • Measure radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors.
  • Calibrate equipment and follow radiation safety techniques for the use and disposal of radioactive materials.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Certification by the State of California and registry eligibility with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Basic Life Support certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a Labor Management Partnership environment
