Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to join our team at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. As an Orthopaedic Oncology Care Provider, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to our mission to eliminate cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive patient care to patients diagnosed with primary bone or soft tissue tumors or metastatic tumors, including history and physical exams, preoperative and postoperative care, and management of complications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans, and communicate with patients and families to discuss diagnosis and treatment options.
  • Manage the surgical schedule, coordinate with surgical services, and communicate with OR staff to ensure smooth case execution.
  • Assist with obtaining insurance authorization, provide patient education, and discuss the importance of cancer treatment and tumor surveillance.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the state of Texas.
  • Written authorization from the Texas Board of Nursing or Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners to function as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Eligibility for limited prescriptive authority in the state of Texas.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
Work Environment

This is a full-time, regular position with a day/evening work schedule. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to our mission to eliminate cancer.
