Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Operating Room Nurse to join our team at PRN Healthcare. As an Operating Room Nurse with PRN Healthcare, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
About the Role
- You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
- Your expertise in perioperative nursing will ensure seamless transitions between pre-op, intra-op, and post-op phases.
- You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- In addition to direct patient care, you will participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring respect, dignity, and comfort throughout the surgical process.
- Conduct thorough assessments, identify potential complications, and implement evidence-based interventions to prevent adverse outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient transfers, diagnostic testing, and other necessary services.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient information, including vital signs, medication administration, and progress notes.
- Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and staff education.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Illinois.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in operating room settings or critical care environments.
- Able to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
