Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Substitute Preschool Instructor to join our team at Union County, OH. As a Substitute Preschool Instructor, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality educational services to children with developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the programming as outlined in the Individual Education Plan (IEP), including performance of necessary non-instructional tasks, helping students become engaged in planned activities, and assisting instructors in the set-up of the educational environment.
  • Assist in keeping educational records, attendance records, and collecting of monies.
  • Assist the student and UCBDD staff and agents in transportation of the child, including loading and unloading buses used for transporting students.
  • Maintain discipline in the classroom, on school grounds, and excursions in the community.
  • Assist in the supervision of volunteers, students in training, and enrollees in training.
  • Relate program philosophy, procedures, and goals to the general public, including regular communications with the family and participation in public relations activities.
  • Maintain professional ethics in keeping with the confidential material, maintain a cooperative relationship with co-workers and families of the children under his/her instruction, and perform other duties as deemed necessary.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Educational Aide Certification from the Ohio Department of Education.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must maintain a valid State of Ohio Driver's License if operating a personal vehicle for official agency business.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient with computers and applicable software, ability to use general office equipment.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of behavior support, individualized service plans, medical, psychosocial, orthopedic, and psychiatric aspects of disability.
  • Working knowledge of client rights, federal, state, UCBDD programs, and HIPAA.
  • Knowledge of applicable statutes, regulatory standards, and reporting authorities.
Working Conditions

The employee may be exposed to adverse weather conditions while driving and may be exposed to blood-borne pathogens, communicable diseases, potentially infectious materials, and/or aggressive behavior.
