Job Summary:
The Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team in Waltham. As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for performing complex diagnostic evaluations, reviewing patient medical history, and developing individualized treatment programs. You will also be responsible for establishing treatment goals, administering physical therapy procedures, and providing education to patients and families. Additionally, you will recommend orthotics, adaptive equipment, and technology for patients with complex or multiple dysfunctions. To qualify, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy and at least one to two years of previous experience. You must also have an active state of MA PT license. This position is based in Waltham, with Saturday coverage needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex diagnostic evaluations upon referral and by departmental and professional standards.
  • Review patient medical history/record and selects, administers, and interprets standardized and non-standardized tests and measurements to assess patients' functional status.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient treatment programs.
  • Establish treatment goals and administers appropriate physical therapy procedures and modalities.
  • Discharge plans and home treatment programs, and providing education to patients and families.
  • Recommending orthotics, adaptive/assistive equipment, and technology for patients with complex, rare, or multiple dysfunctions.
  • Liaison with equipment designers and vendors regarding equipment specifications and patient needs.
  • Training patients, families, and caretakers in the use/operation of prescribed orthotics/equipment, monitoring and evaluating effectiveness, and initiating modifications as needed.
  • Recording assessments, diagnoses, and treatment inpatient medical records according to established documentation standards.
  • Preparing reports, correspondence, referrals, and other materials for schools, providers, payers, and others as needed.
  • Assigning standardized billing codes and corresponding charges required for reimbursement.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy and at least one to two years of previous experience.
  • Active state of MA PT license.
  • This position is based in Waltham, with Saturday coverage needs.
