As a Senior Engineer specializing in Transportation, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, operation, and design of the Village's transportation infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting detailed technical analyses, including complex studies and evaluations.
- Assessing private development site plans and proposals for their transportation implications.
- Collaborating with various State and local agencies to enhance transportation initiatives.
Engage in teamwork with other Village departments to deliver thorough assessments and innovative solutions for projects, both in the office and on-site.
Act as the Village's project manager for internal projects, which encompass Village, State, and Federally funded initiatives such as STP and CMAQ.
Prepare and deliver presentations to the Village Board and external stakeholders.

COMPENSATION
Salary range for 2024 is $85,383 – $121,243, with starting salary dependent on qualifications.
A comprehensive benefits package is available, including medical, dental, and vision insurance options, IMRF pension, 457 deferred compensation program, and more.
WORK SCHEDULE
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with occasional additional hours as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
WORK LOCATION
This position is onsite in Hoffman Estates, IL.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation, Planning, or a related discipline is required.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration or the ability to obtain it is necessary.
Four to ten years of relevant work experience is preferred.
Proficiency in technical software related to transportation planning, safety, operations, analysis, AutoCAD, engineering design software, GIS, and Highway Capacity Software is essential.
An Illinois Class D Driver's License is required.
