Your role as a CRNA Anesthesiologist at LCMC Health is more than just a job. It's a career that requires expertise, precision, and compassion. As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, you will administer anesthesia for all types of surgical cases in various settings, utilizing your knowledge and skills to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
Key responsibilities include administering anesthesia in four general categories: pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation, anesthesia induction, maintenance and emergence, and post-anesthetic care. You will also be responsible for selecting, obtaining, and administering anesthetic, adjuvant drugs, and fluids necessary to manage the anesthetic, as well as maintaining the patient's physiologic homeostasis and correcting abnormal responses to the anesthesia or surgery.
Additionally, you will be responsible for selecting, applying, and inserting appropriate non-invasive and invasive monitoring modalities for collecting and interpreting patient physiological data, including endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, and respiratory therapy. You will also be responsible for discharging patients from a post-anesthesia care area, providing post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care related to anesthesia side effects or complications, and initiating or modifying pain relief therapy through the utilization of drugs, regional anesthetic techniques, or other accepted pain relief modalities.
As a CRNA Anesthesiologist, you will also respond to emergency situations by providing airway management, administration of emergency fluids or drugs, or using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques. You will provide clinical support services outside of the operating room, including but not limited to radiology, endoscopy, emergency department, or invasive labs. You will also provide consultation and implementation of respiratory and ventilatory care upon request or referral for these services.
**The Must-Haves Minimum:**
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONSLicense or temporary permit to practice professional nursing and advanced practice nursing in Louisiana. Licensed as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (RN/CRNA). American Heart Association Basic Life Support Health Care Provider, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
