About the Role

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a skilled and experienced Driver to join our Shuttle Services division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation of employees and visitors to on-campus and off-campus locations.


The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of transportation logistics and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, performing routine vehicle maintenance, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Operate vans or mini-buses for transportation of employees and visitors on scheduled routes.
  • Pick up and deliver mail, packages, drugs, and supplies to off-campus locations on assigned routes.
  • Transport patients to specialty care units and agencies within the cooperative system.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including refueling, checking tire pressure, and inspecting oil, water, and batteries.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of experience in operating various types of motor vehicles, including high-occupancy vans, mini-buses, and commercial buses.
  • Valid State of Texas Driver License required.
  • Commercial Driver License (CDL) with passenger endorsement required for operating vehicles weighing 26,001 pounds or more.

Working Conditions
  • Work is performed primarily in automobiles.
  • Exposure to variable weather and road conditions.
