Cafeteria Worker

Bellingham Public Schools is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cafeteria Worker to join our team. As a Cafeteria Worker, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to students and staff.

• Prepare and cook a variety of food items, including hot and cold entrees, salads, and snacks.
• Operate kitchen equipment, such as ovens, steamers, and kettles.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment.
• Assist with cash handling and point-of-sale operations.
• Stock and maintain food, beverage, and paper supplies.
• Work collaboratively with the Lead Cook and School Nutrition Director to ensure smooth meal service.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.
• Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions.
• Good organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and recipes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

• Previous food service experience.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
