We are seeking an experienced Engineering Operations Manager to join our team at Leidos. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of systems administrators, network engineers, and MAC installers in a fast-paced, mission-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide functional oversight of all task-level assignments within the client/server engineering team.
- Drive a mindset of continuous improvement and technical discipline within the client/server engineering team.
- Respond to frequent priority shifts as a result of customer direction.
- Track and maintain compliance with customer SLAs applicable to the client/server engineering team.
- Drive automation initiatives to realize efficiencies across activities and projects.
- Identify and drive standardization activities within the client/server engineering team.
- Maintain effective communications and coordination among customers and managers relevant to engineering requirements.
- Overall responsibility for a team of approximately 20 FTE.
- Bachelor in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent and 8+ years of experience or Masters and 6+ years of experience OR 12 years experience in lieu of degree.
- Must have a TS/SCI with poly to be considered.
- Strong working knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to client/server engineering and systems administration.
- A minimum of 10 years cumulative experience in an IT field discipline (client/server engineering, systems administration, systems engineering, software engineering etc.).
- Experience instituting a training plan to align the skills of the team with business needs.
- Experience with programs deploying IT solutions.
- Experience leading technical teams, including sub-contractors.
- Experience in all phases of the systems development lifecycle.
- Expertise in leading teams within a fast-paced operational environment.
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills.
- Strong customer service approach.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- MS or equivalent professional experience and specialized education.
- Technical certifications (e.g. MTA, MCSA, MCSE).
- ScrumMaster or other Agile certification.
