Position Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations under general supervision. This role involves obtaining essential images, preparing studies for interpretation by cardiologists, and reviewing data while collaborating with medical personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to Policies: Uphold Kaiser Permanente's policies, principles, and applicable laws.
  • Conduct Echocardiograms: Perform various echocardiogram procedures, utilizing modalities such as 2D, M-Mod, Strain, 3D Quantification, color flow, and Doppler Testing.
  • Assist in Procedures: Support interventional procedures including Transesophageal Echocardiograms and other cardiac interventions.
  • Patient Interaction: Explain procedures to patients, ensuring they understand the examination process.
  • Equipment Management: Maintain and manage ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is functional and sterile.
  • Documentation: Complete all necessary medical record documentation and logs accurately.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to urgent requests for echocardiogram examinations.
Qualifications
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of full-time equivalent experience in cardiac ultrasound within the last three years.
  • Education: Completion of an accredited two-year ARDMS/ARDCS Cardiovascular sonographer program.
  • Certifications: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echocardiography Certification and Basic Life Support certification.
Additional Skills
  • Proficient in operating ultrasound equipment and performing echocardiograms.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
