The Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute at Florida Atlantic University is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team of researchers in the field of neurodegeneration. As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will have the opportunity to investigate the underlying mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases, including ALS, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease.
Responsibilities:- Conduct research using mouse models to explore mechanisms of disease progression.
- Investigate molecular pathways and biomarkers through biochemical analyses.
- Utilize cell and tissue imaging techniques to study mechanisms of neuronal dysfunction.
- Perform cell culture and analysis of metabolic and functional state, as well as cell imaging, iPSC-derived brain cells, western blots, immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry, and recombinant protein production.
- In vivo: perform treatments, biofluid sampling, behavioral/motor testing, and euthanasia.
- Bachelor of Science degree.
- Strong background in neuroscience or a related field.
- Excellent research skills and experience with mouse models.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A competitive salary of $55,000.00 to $62,000.00.
