About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Northern Nevada Health System. As a Per Diem Registered Nurse, you will have the flexibility to work on a part-time basis, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient populations, addressing their psychosocial, physical, and general needs in the surgical environment.
  • Assist with the maintenance of PHA and PACU equipment and inventory, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care to optimize outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with surgeons and anesthesiologists, receiving direction for patient management and interceding to maintain optimum homeostasis.
  • Monitor patients' physiological status in the immediate postoperative environment, proficient in pain management, guidelines, and medication dosing.
Requirements
  • Current Nevada nursing license.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certificate.
  • Prefer one year full-time or three years part-time experience in acute care PACU setting.
  • Handle with Care (or obtained within six months of employment) in required specialty.
