Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled EHS Specialist to join our team at Kohler. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs and related projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation: Identify and coordinate safety improvement plans to ensure continuous improvement of safety in new or existing products, processes, and procedures.
  • Injury Prevention and Compliance: Develop, communicate, facilitate, and track site injury prevention plans, maintain all OSHA required programs, training, logs, records, and reports.
  • Training and Development: Coordinate all related EHS training for management, supervision, hourly associates, etc.
  • Incident Investigations and Risk Management: Perform incident investigations (RCA) and ensure CAPA is closed in a timely fashion, conduct risk and hazard analysis.
  • Statistical Analysis and Reporting: Maintain statistical analysis of associate accidents and injuries to target specific areas for improvement.
  • Contractor Safety and Compliance: Manage contractor safety program, provide monthly safety reviews and targeted compliance audits.
  • Safety Capital Projects: Implement safety-related capital projects, including evaluation, justification, ACT preparation, and follow-up.
  • Return to Work and Workers' Compensation: Work with medical providers to evaluate lost and restricted work days, recommend improvements, manage return to work and light duty programs, and support management of workers' compensation claims.
  • Safety Committee and Communication: Actively participate in site safety committee, coordinate and present monthly safety meeting topics for upper management, supervision, hourly associates, etc.
  • EHS Regulations and Compliance: Understand and communicate pertinent EHS government regulations, Kohler EHS standards, and best practices to management and associates.
  • Sustainability and Environmental Compliance: Responsible for maintaining sustainability-related data and required reporting, understanding applicable legislative and regulatory requirements, and maintaining a current environmental compliance calendar.
Requirements
  • Education: Four-year degree in Engineering, Safety, or related field.
  • Experience: At least five to ten years' experience in an EHS-related role within an industrial setting.
  • Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to function as a team leader, foster management and associate participation, good interpersonal communication and computer skills, extensive knowledge of safety and environmental laws and regulations, ability to work with multiple operations across varying business units, experience with EHS auditing, root cause analysis, and corrective action identification and implementation.
