Family Medicine Hospitalist Position

Family Medicine Hospitalist - Inpatient CareLocated within a commutable distance from major urban centers.
The hospitalist is responsible for delivering comprehensive medical services in accordance with their professional training, licensure, and credentials. A standard workday typically encompasses:
- Comprehensive patient evaluations
- Routine patient rounds
- Coordination of patient discharges
- Collaboration with specialists and local healthcare providers
The physician will oversee and guide Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants on the team. We provide a competitive compensation package, health benefits, paid time off, and continuing medical education allowances. Ideal candidates will thrive in a collaborative environment and possess strong communication abilities. Preference will be given to applicants who are board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice, although residents are also encouraged to apply.
Position Overview- Employment Type: Full-time
- Certification Required: ACLS
- Preferred Qualifications: Board certification in Internal Medicine, but Family Practice candidates will be considered
- Documentation System: Meditech for all medical records and orders
- Call Coverage: Physicians will share on-call responsibilities, typically covering 4-5 day shifts with occasional night call support
- Assistance: A Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will be available during daytime hours to support with histories and physicals, discharges, daily rounds, and respond to nursing inquiries
- Patient Load: Generally, physicians will round on 20-25 acute care patients daily across various units
The compensation package includes a salary of $200,000 for approximately 72 hours per pay period or 12 shifts (7 AM - 7 PM) monthly, with night call responsibilities included. Physicians typically manage calls from home unless a critical care patient requires in-person assessment.
