Transition Teacher

At Developmental Services, Inc. - Kokomo, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Transition Teacher to join our Early Childhood Services team.

The Transition Teacher will provide a safe and inclusive educational setting for children, supporting families in their role as primary caretakers and educators. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to the agency's mission, values, and vision, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

1. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the assigned group, maintaining a warm and clean environment that is inclusive of all needs.
2. Create and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum, observing and documenting child growth and development to inform assessments and lesson plans.
3. Collaborate with families to create child goals, participating in parent engagement opportunities and providing resources and referrals as needed.
4. Model appropriate language and behavior, reporting any health, social, or crisis needs of the child or family to management as required.
5. Attend all meetings and trainings as required to meet state and federal regulations.

1. Associates or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
2. Infant and Toddler CDA or equivalent certification is required.
3. Experience working professionally with children under the age of 3 years is preferred.
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
5. Maintain a valid Indiana driver's license and insurance on personal vehicle.
