Sterile Processing Technician Level II Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician Level II to join our team at Baylor Scott & White Health in Round Rock, Texas.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning, sterilization, processing, organizing and distributing patient equipment, instruments, supplies and products used in the care and treatment of patients. As a Sterile Processing Technician Level II, you will perform various duties associated with maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring the highest quality of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and decontaminate instruments, containers and patient equipment using detergents and disinfectant solutions under regulatory standards and internal policies and procedures.
  • Operate semi-automatic and automatic sterilization equipment and washers.
  • Inventories, orders, replenishes and distributes instruments, reusable medical equipment and medical supplies for general supplies and surgical carts.
  • Maintains and controls inventory, maintains applicable records and files.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, environmental, manufacturer and infection control practices.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician preferred.
  • Certified Board Sterile Processing & Dist (CBSPD), Certified Reg Central Service Tech (CRCST), or Certified Sterile Proc/Distr Tech (CSPDT) certification required.
